Temporary changes to Melbourne Drive (Melbourne Airport)

19 July 2018

Expect some delays getting onto the Tullamarine Freeway when picking-up from Melbourne Airport.

We are working on Melbourne Drive from late evening 24 July for approximately two weeks. This will impact you if you are trying to get onto the Tullamarine Freeway, towards the city, from Melbourne Airport.

During the works, we will be reducing Melbourne Drive to a single lane. To help maintain the flow of traffic, we will be diverting some traffic onto the new bus bridge. Both lanes give access to the freeway.

The changed conditions will cause some delays. Please take extra care and look out for traffic management who will be in place to help you get through the works as quickly as possible.

What's changing?

From Arrival Drive

Arrival Drive has two lanes. The right lane will be directed onto the bus bridge. The left lane will use Melbourne Drive as normal.

Car park exit from Departure Drive

You can access Melbourne Drive from the car park exit on Departure Drive. The intersection with Centre Road has three lanes that continue onto Melbourne Drive.

The right hand lane will be diverted onto the bus bridge. The two left hand lanes will continue onto Melbourne Drive and merge into a single lane.

From Centre Road

It's also possible to turn right from two lanes on Centre Road onto Melbourne Drive. The right hand lane will be diverted onto the bus bridge. The left hand lane will continue onto Melbourne Drive as normal.

Departure Drive

Departure Drive is not impacted by these changed conditions.
