Detour details

There will be ongoing lane and ramp closures on Mickleham Road underneath the Tullamarine Freeway from now until early 2017.

Travelling towards the city

Northbound traffic on Mickleham Road will not be able to turn right onto the Tullamarine Freeway via the inbound entry ramp.

A signed detour will be in place via Mickleham Road using the Broadmeadows Road roundabout, back down Mickleham Road and entering via the Tulla Freeway entry ramp. This diversion will add up to an additional 10 minutes to your travel time.

Drivers who are already aware of the closure can choose to travel south down Mickleham Road and get onto the Tulla via Melrose Drive and Wirraway Road. This alternative route will add up to an extra five minutes to your travel time.

Please plan your journey and allow extra time.

Travelling towards Melbourne Airport

One right turn lane for southbound motorists heading towards the airport will be closed.  This will create additional congestion and queuing. Delays of up to five minutes are expected in peak times.  Drivers heading to the airport may choose to continue south along Mickleham Road to Airport Drive, via Melrose Drive and Sharps Road.
